GALLOWAY – Richard Stockton College will conduct its annual fall commencement 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16.

The speaker will be associate writing professor Emari DiGiorgio, a Stockton alumna who lives in Ventnor.

Earlier this year, DiGiorgio was named a Distinguished Teaching Artist by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.

She was a recipient of the Governor’s Award in Arts Education.

Her poems have appeared in print and online journals.

She has also received a Vermont Studio Center Residency, a New Jersey State Council on the Arts poetry fellowship and the Ellen LaForge Memorial Poetry Prize.

She was recently featured in the Dodge Poetry Foundation’s “Poetry Friday” blog.

In addition to her Stockton teaching and writing, DiGiorgio conducts a monthly creative writing workshop at the South Jersey chapter of the cancer resource center at Gilda’s Club.

The degree conferral ceremony will be held in the Sports Center, adjacent to parking lot 4.

More than 850 degree candidates are expected.
