Scholastic penguin challenge

Second grade students at the Port Republic School “huddled up” for some friendly competition during technology integration class the first week of January.
Students completed a digital version of Scholastic’s Weekly Reader, titled “Count Me If You Can,” to learn about penguins in Antarctica.
The Port Republic Parent Teacher Society donates the newspapers to students in grades K-5 each year.
This week’s activities included reading the newspaper, watching a video and working in groups to complete the penguin challenge. The girls and boys all worked diligently and ended the competition with a tie.
