PORT REPUBLIC – Kindergarten-through-fourth-grade students at Port Republic School have been practicing their skills as they get ready for the annual Jump Rope for Heart event sponsored by the American Heart Association.
They spend part of every physical education class jumping rope and building up their stamina in preparation for the 30-minute afterschool event, which will be held Tuesday, March 26.
This will be Port Republic’s 15th year hosting the event under the direction of physical education teacher Helene Gross.
Students are enthusiastic about the event and always look forward to participating so they can promote healthy heart habits while raising money for a good cause.
Last year, students raised $1,558.
