GALLOWAY – A pick-up truck leaving USA Gas on Route 9 in the Smithville section of the township struck the gas attendant at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, police said Friday.

The attendant, Kyung Kim, no age given, of Galloway sustained “serious but non-life threatening injuries,” police said.

A 2005 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Linda Miller of Galloway struck Kim as he was walking across the parking lot.  The gas attendant was waiting on customers when he was struck by the pickup as it was leaving the parking area. The impact threw Kim to the ground, police said.

He was treated on scene by Galloway Township Ambulance personnel and AtlantiCare Medics. Galloway EMS took him to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus in Atlantic City.

USA Gas was closed for approximately one half hour while police investigated the accident.

The weather was clear and the ground dry, police said.

Miller was issued a careless driving summons.

Ptl. Steve Garrison is the investigating officer.
