Pleasantville man charged with weapons offenses at Galloway complex

GALLOWAY– Police arrested a Pleasantville man on Sunday, June 22 in the Clubs housing complex and charged him with weapons offenses, according to a release Friday.

Police responded to a report of a possible assault in progress at 11:34 p.m. in front of Building 6 in the 100 Block of Federal Ct. Upon arrival, authorities located several male subjects who appeared intoxicated and arguing.

K-9 Officer Kevin Welsh observed a handgun on one of the subjects. The suspect, Anthony Lewis, 23, of Pleasantville, was taken into custody after a brief struggle and the gun was secured. Lewis was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, unlawful possession of a loaded Hi-Point .380 semi-automatic and possession of hollow-point bullets.

No individuals were injured during the incident. 

Lewis was transported to the Atlantic County Justice Facility where bail was set at $100,000.
