Mara Justine GALLOWAY– Mara Justine Platt, the Galloway preteen who wowed judges on NBC’s "America’s Got Talent" with two phenomenal singing performances, did it yet again, Tuesday, Aug. 5.

The results, which aired at the end of the 9 p.m. episode of “AGT” on NBC the following night, revealed that Platt was one of five performers out of 12 who made it through to the semifinal rounds. She performed a powerful rendition of “Unconditionally” by Katy Perry. Platt performed on “AGT” in June and then in July cementing her voice in the minds and memories of judges and fans.

Platt, 12, who will attend the Galloway Township Middle School in the fall, will perform in the semifinal rounds of “AGT.” The episode will air either on Aug. 26 or Sept. 2.

When asked if she ever expected to go this far, Platt replied in an email on Friday, Aug. 8, “I would have never imagined this. I'm so blessed and grateful for this experience.”

Even though it would seem after advancing on “AGT” two times before, that she would just make it through another round, go home and prepare for the next one, Platt said that is just was not so.

“I was so surprised when I got through to the semifinals at Radio City Music Hall,” she said.

Her “momma" Linda, 44, continues to be her number one supporter. Her siblings Mason, 9; Bill, 13; Jacey, 17; and Alaina, 19, are also so happy for her, she said.

Platt plans on continuing to practice, pray and wish for the best.

And just as she has tried to do for all of the rounds on “AGT” so far, her advice to anyone who is performing is to not be too nervous.

“Just be you and have fun with it.”
