Moravian Church Coffee House

The Moravian Church, 235 Boston Ave. in Egg Harbor City, will hold its second annual Coffee House Saturday, Feb. 23. The public is invited to share in a night of music, coffee, tea and desserts. A Chinese auction is also planned. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and entertainment starts at 7. Admission is $5. People are urged to bring a non-perishable food item for the church food pantry. Assumption open houses

Assumption Regional Catholic School, 146 S. Pitney Road in Galloway, holds “Meet Us Mondays” 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays for prospective students and their families. See www.arcsgalloway.org. 


Cedar Creek used clothing drive

Cedar Creek High School is collecting usable or slightly used items, including clothes, shoes, pocketbooks and handbags, belts and scarves, gloves, blankets, bed sheets, quilts and comforters, towels and toys such as action figures and stuffed animals throughout the school year. Any donated items can be placed in a plastic bag and dropped at the school during the school day in the main office or bring any donations to any athletic event. Proceeds will benefit Cedar Creek High School students and 24 area needy families in Mullica Township and Egg Harbor City. For information call (609) 965-9146.

Davies clothing collection

William Davies Middle School is collecting clothing for infant through adult ages in a bright green container at the school, 1876 Dr. Dennis Foreman Dr., Hamilton Township. The clothing drive benefits Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Atlantic and Cape May counties. Call (609) 476-6242.


Project Child Find

Hamilton Township parents who are concerned that their preschool-age child may have special needs can receive assistance from the local school district’s Child Study Team. The Hamilton Township Schools are organizing a Child Find campaign to locate and provide services for children ages 3-5 who may have physical, cognitive, language or emotional difficulties. Police seek Domestic Violence Response Team volunteers

The Hamilton Township Police Department is recruiting volunteers to work on its Domestic Violence Response Team. Members will work with the police to provide support, information and referrals to victims of domestic violence. Applicants must be at least 18, have access to transportation, be willing to submit to a background check and attend 60 hours of mandatory training. EHC Historical Society updating scrapbooks

Marjorie Gries-Garwood, historian for the Egg Harbor City Historical Society, is updating the Roundhouse Museum yearly scrapbooks. Special events should relate to those occurring between 2006 and 2011. This could include articles, pictures and handouts relating to sports events, graduations, organization sponsored events, parades, class reunions and city sponsored events. Depression awareness group

The Matt McIntosh Foundation invites all members of the community to attend its weekly peer support meetings where friendship, education, introspection and a home-cooked meal are provided at 5 p.m. every Friday night at the McIntosh family residence at 156 Tryens Drive in Mays Landing. Play day at the library

Fire company membership drive

The Cologne Volunteer Fire Company is holding a membership drive, seeking men and women 18 and older who want to experience the excitement of responding to emergency calls while also serving their community as firefighters. Weekly food bank sites

The First United Methodist Church at 6011 Main St. in Mays Landing is a local food bank site open 9 a.m.-11 a.m., 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. every Wednesday and offers an assortment of canned goods, bread, eggs, cheese, chicken and meat. Participants are eligible for the food on a monthly basis and the amount of food given is determined by family size. Identification is necessary in order to obtain the free food. The food bank at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 114 Route 50 in Mays Landing, is open 9-11 a.m., 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. every Thursday.


Story time at Hamilton Mall

Janet Marler, outreach services librarian for the Atlantic County Library, presents story times at 11 a.m. every other Thursday at the Hamilton Mall. Living history in EHC

Effie Kennedy is conducting living history interviews for the Egg Harbor City Historical Society.
