EGG HARBOR CITY – City Council recognized and commended the performance of a detective and two officers from the Egg Harbor City Police Department during its Jan. 27 meeting.

“I’d like to recognize the men of our department,” said Councilman Denis Munoz, a retired Atlantic City police officer and former SWAT team member. “People don’t realize that on a day-to-day basis they may answer calls that are life-threatening.”

City Police Detective Steve Hadley received a plaque honoring his service for his actions during the Dec. 2 drug arrest in the Harbor City Apartment Complex.

His actions resulted in the arrests of William Frambro, 26, James, Brown, 55, and Michael Spell, Munoz said.

Police seized 670 bags of heroin, a half-once of cocaine, 50 grams of marijuana, a pair of 45-caliber semiautomatic weapons and one .357 magnum revolver that was loaded with hollow-point ammunition, Munoz said.

Police also recovered $1,250 in cash.

Hadley was part of a coalition of forces that was conducting a search warrant, Munoz said.

Munoz also read a second commendation for Hadley, who witnessed a hand-to-hand narcotics transaction at the intersection on Sept. 21 at Route 30 and London Avenue.

Police seized drugs and $2,600 in cash, Munoz said.

Munoz wasn’t finished in handing out praise to the department’s officers, however.  He commended the work performance of Police Officers Dave Aldridge and Mike Luko for their actions shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

Aldridge and Luko responded to an anonymous 911 call reporting drug activity in the Philadelphia Village apartments. They arrested Robert Strong, 20, Stephen Mack, 19, both of Egg Harbor City, along with Sean Ford, 28, of Mays Landing and charged them with multiple drug offenses, Munoz said.

In addition, Aldridge and Luko seized more than $17,000 in drug money, Munoz said.

“All of the officers are doing a great job every day they are out there,” he said. “We might have just singled out three, but we have a complete department. They do a lot of good things every day on our behalf.”
