HAMILTON TOWNSHIP – Police are crediting an alert neighbor for tipping them off to a burglary in progress Monday, Feb. 13.

Thanks to the neighbor’s 911 call, police were able to reach the residence in the 600 block of Park Road along Lake Lenape, search the property and find a suspect hiding in the basement.

Anthony Capaccio, 23, of Mays Landing was arrested and charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief, police said. He was lodged in the Gerard L. Gormley Justice Facility in default of $25,000 cash bail set by the Judge H. Robert Switzer.

Police said the neighbor called after she observed a suspicious man in the rear of the residence. When officers arrived, they determined that the home had been broken into.
