HAMILTON TOWNSHIP – When Hamilton Township police were unable to find the victim of a Friday, March 30 shooting, doctors at Shore Medical Center stepped in.

They had the man in their emergency room and notified the Hamilton Township Police Department that they were treating him for bullet wounds to the elbow.

The incident began when Hamilton Township police responded to a 911 call reporting the sound of gunshots at 9:55 p.m. near Arbor Court in the Woodlands Condominium Complex along the Black Horse Pike.

However, the police were unable to locate neither the victim nor the suspect during an initial investigation.

Then at 10:34 p.m., Shore doctors notified the police that they were treating the victim.

The victim told police that he had been shot during a robbery near the WalMart, which is located across the Black Horse Pike from the Woodlands.

The alleged robbers were described as black males, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall. One suspect wore a grey hooded sweatshirt.

After giving his shooters' description, however, the victim became uncooperative with investigators, police said.

Anyone with information should contact the police at (609) 625-2700, ext. 574.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office is assisting with the investigation.
