HAMILTON TOWNSHIP – Hamilton Township police arrested Denis Castellani, 53, of Mays Landing on April 4 and charged him with aggravated sexual assault of a 4-year-old.

Denis Castellani The arrest was the result of an investigation that revealed that Castellani had committed a sexual offense in 2010 against the victim, and another offense occurred when the victim was 5, police said.

Based on the investigation, Castellani was charged with aggravated sexual assault in the first degree, aggravated criminal sexual contact in the third degree, endangering the welfare of a child in the third degree and lewdness in the fourth degree.

Municipal Court Judge H.R. Switzer authorized a warrant for Castellani and bail was set by Superior Court Judge Kyron Connor at $150,000.

Castellani is being held in Gerard L. Gormley Justice Facility.
