HAMILTON TOWNSHIP  -An afternoon under the sun became little too hot for workers at 2 p.m. Friday, June 8 when a nearby barn caught fire.

New Jersey State Forest Fire and Weymouth Fire Company personnel were able to control and extinguish the fire quickly enough to save the structure located in the Weymouth section of the township, Hamilton police said.

The fire was not suspicious, police said.

The blaze was caused the hot exhaust of a pickup truck that was being used to deliver 10 bails of hay.

The Mays Landing and Mizpah Fire companies also responded along with members of the Hamilton Rescue Squad.
