Police announce Mizpah arson arrests

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP – Police needed less than 24 hours to make arrests in the case of two arson fires set over the weekend in unoccupied residences a mile apart in the Mizpah section of the township.

At 6:30 p.m. Sunday, June 24 police responded to structure fires on Albany and New Orleans avenues.

Police indentified two Hamilton Township juvenile males as suspects during their investigation. Police interviewed the teens and charged them each with two counts of arson in the second degree, two counts of criminal mischief in the third degree and two counts of conspiracy in the third degree.

The juveniles were lodged in Harborfields juvenile detention center in Egg Harbor City.

Members of the Mizpah and Weymouth volunteer fire companies extinguished the fires.

No injuries were reported.
