Motorcyclist dies in three-vehicle crash

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP - An Estell Manor motorcyclist died Tuesday, June 26 after he was struck nearly head-on by a 94-year-old driver attempting a left-hand turn.

Clifford Rosegren, 60, of Estell Manor, was pronounced dead at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Division, according to the Hamilton Township Police Department.

The driver of the car, Robert K. Fidler, 94, of Dorothy, was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Mainland Campus for treatment of minor injuries.

The accident occurred at 7:05 p.m. when Fidler was driving his Subaru Outback north on Route 50 and attempted to make a left-hand turn into the VFW parking lot, police said. In doing so, he struck Clifford Rosegren’s Harley-Davidson motorcycle which was traveling southbound on Route 50

Rosegren’s motorcycle then slid into a Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by Jason Rosegren, 31, of Hamilton Township. He was transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Division trauma unit for treatment of critical injuries.

The force of the collision threw both motorcyclists from their machines.

The Atlantic County Rangers assisted in controlling traffic.

Charges are pending the completion of an investigation by Hamilton Township Police Officer Nicole nelson and Det. Michael Robinson.

Traffic was diverted for two hours to allow crews to clean the scene.
