Hamilton Mall names McCarroll fashion ambassador

Charlie Pritchard HAMILTON TOWNSHIP – Jay McCarroll, 2006 winner of “Project Runway” and “Celebrity Fit Club” in 2010, has been named fashion ambassador for the Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing for 2013 and 2014.

McCarroll was present at Never Too Spoiled, the mall’s exclusive carrier of his designs, on Friday, June 28 to meet and greet customers.

As the store’s fashion ambassador, McCarroll will be hosting numerous events at the mall beginning in August with the “Battle of the Runways,” aimed at back-to-school fashions. He will be designing a special T-shirt exclusively for Hamilton Mall, and will be writing an interactive column, “Ask Jay” in the mall’s monthly newsletter.

“This is an awesome opportunity for me,” McCarroll said. “I am really looking forward to being a part of the mall’s current expansion and in taking the mall’s image to the next level. It is really going to be a special shopping destination for the area.”

Kravco Company LLC, developer and manager of Hamilton Mall, is in the midst of an 82,000-square-foot redevelopment project. The first phase will be completed in July and will accommodate a pair of new, two-level junior anchor stores geared to the youth apparel shopper, H&M, which opened earlier in June, and Forever 21, with a grand opening scheduled for Saturday, July 6.
