HAMILTON TOWNSHIP – The Township of Hamilton Police Department is reporting a sharp increase in motor vehicle burglary reports in the eastern section of the township, specifically residential areas adjacent to the Hamilton Mall.

Since Dec. 14, there have been 14 overnight motor vehicle burglaries to unlocked vehicles in residential areas.  

Police are reminding residents of safety measures they should take to protect themselves and their vehicles, including:

Don't leave valuables in your car – particularly not in plain sight.

Lock all of your vehicle's doors even if your vehicle is parked in your own driveway.

Set any alarm or anti-theft device.

Most importantly be aware of your surroundings and report any suspicious activity to the police immediately.
