HAMILTON TOWNSHIP – With the 50th anniversary celebration of the Beatles U.S. television debut in high gear, Hamilton Mall is getting in on the craze with the return of the Kool 98.3 and 103.7 WMGM Rock Art Show and Sale Feb. Friday-Sunday, Feb. 14-16.

This year’s show will have a heavy Beatles theme with a scheduled free performance by a Beatles band, and appearances by an artist who worked on some well-known Beatles projects.

Ron Campbell, director of the Saturday morning Beatles cartoon series that aired on ABC from 1965 to 1969, and animator on the Beatles film “Yellow Submarine,” will make a rare personal appearance.

In honor of Valentine’s Day, Campbell will personalize special “All You Need is Love” paintings based on the film “Yellow Submarine,” with a couple’s name and/or wedding date. There will also be many original Beatles paintings on sale created especially for this show, and Campbell will give a live demonstration of his painting.

On Saturday, Feb. 15, Britishmania will stage a free Beatles tribute concert in Center Court, starting with an Early Beatles show at 4 p.m., followed by an Abbey Road set after a short break.

Other highlights include a signed Ringo Starr drum head created for the Grammy Museum exhibit featuring Ringo’s personal memorabilia.

The Rock Art Show will go beyond the Beatles. The collection of art, photographs, animation cells, concert tour posters, gold records and more will encompass classic rock giants like Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, the Who, Bob Dylan, the Doors, Aerosmith, Bruce Springsteen, Santana, Pink Floyd, the Police, U2, Bon Jovi, and the Allman Brothers.

Free flowers will be given to the first 300 women who show up at the customer service center on Valentine’s Day.

The show is free and all rock art works are available for purchase. Kool 98.3 and 103.7 WMGM will broadcast live throughout the weekend.
