GOP is motivated by fiscal responsibility

To the editor:

This is a response to the individual from Galloway who wrote in your July 12 edition that  the GOP is willing to sacrifice the economy to beat Obama.

Obama had three years to work on the economy, but he chose to spend most of his time passing another entitlement (Obamacare) that will bankrupt this country.

It appears that his four years in office will constitute furthering the deficit to $16 trillion. If he survives to a second term, he will no doubt add another $4 trillion.

I believe that the GOP realizes that there is no way for our economy to survive this debt. So yes, the GOP is trying to keep Obama out of office, because they are looking toward fiscal responsibility.

There is no way the left can keep spending money without taking this country to the abyss. I, for one, long for the opportunity for my children and grandchildren to be able to aspire to a similar lifestyle that I have experienced. But with the growing deficit, the adage "we are here to pay taxes and die" seems more fitting.
