CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – Brenda L. Douglass, board-certified advance practice nurse, has joined Cape Regional Physicians Associates, effective Nov. 12.
Douglass received her doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from Chatham University. She earned a master of science in nursing from Thomas Jefferson University and subsequently obtained her board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Undergraduate studies were completed at Immaculata University where she earned a bachelor of science in nursing.
“Dr. Douglass is a dedicated and seasoned healthcare professional with over 20 years of experience who integrates both the art and science of advanced practice nursing for patients and their families,” stated Joanne Vaul, executive director of physician integration at Cape Regional Health System.
Providing specialized care to patients with diabetes, endocrine, and metabolism disorders in an endocrinology setting has been among her experiences. An area of interest encompasses treating those who depend on tobacco. Besides a focus on caring for individuals with acute and chronic conditions, she possesses a wealth of experience as an advance practice nurse which includes cardiology, pulmonology, and sleep disorders, according to hospital officials. Her extensive nursing experience in Emergency Nursing and Trauma care adds to her knowledge in caring for individuals across the lifespan. With a passion for nursing, she serves as an adjunct faculty member, educating upcoming nursing professionals both academically and in the clinical setting.
