Try mahogany on the boardwalk

To the editor:
Mahogany wood is a durable wood that is used on many residential and commercial decks, patios or steps. I have been told in the furniture industry where I have worked that these trees grow plentifully in Southeast Asia where they are harvested and replaced with new trees to be forested in the future. Ocean City officials should look into obtaining the mahogany as a durable wood replacement rather than Ipe.
