Visit Baptist Church and St. James

To the editor:
Ocean City residents will be uplifted, energized, inspired and renewed by attending services at Tabernacle Baptist Church and St. James AME Church, both near the ShopRite.
The Bible says love and love alone makes one a Christian – a preacher with credibility.
Shakespeare said, “An honest man is the most noble work of God.” (Honest meaning primarily genuine love for all people. Jesus said of a man in the New Testament: “There is no guile in him” – meaning he sincerely liked, helped and loved all people.)
Pastor Charles Frazier at Tabernacle Baptist and Pastor Drena Garrett, like her predecessor Pastor Bernice Prescott, are two of the best preachers ever in world history. Both churches are clean and with a feeling of warmth. Both churches should be filled to capacity. The treasurer at St. James, Norine Bailey, is one of the most loving, beautiful Christians ever. They do not just preach, they love, like, respect and help people.
The Bible condemns clergy with “itchy ears.” Once at a Bible study at St. Peter’s United Methodist, I said there should be more emphasis on hell in the pulpits of churches. Two members of the Bible study gasped in horror and disagreed. Tabernacle Baptist and St. James AME strike the proper balance between preaching about sin and hell and God’s redeeming mercy and love.
Do you want to be energized and renewed? Go to these two churches.
