Armed Robbery in Northfield

NORTHFIELD—Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at about 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7 on Dolphin Avenue, in the vicinity of the county buildings at Shore Road.
According to Police Chief Robert James the suspect walked up to a woman who had just gotten off at the bus stop and flashed a handgun and demanded her purse.
She handed over the purse and the suspect then fled the scene on a bicycle and headed off on the bike path toward Pleasantville. The suspect is described as a black male and he was wearing a black hoodie type sweatshirt and blue jeans at the time of the incident.
Police are working on a composite sketch. Anyone who might have seen something suspicious or who may have information about the armed robbery is asked to call the Northfield Police at (609) 641-2832
