MAYS LANDING – Paul C. Campo, 38, of Margate was sentenced Friday, Feb. 22 to 13 years in prison stemming from an incident that occurred in Linwood, April 30, 2010, according to acting Atlantic County Prosecutor, Jim McClain. Campo was found guilty of exposing himself to a 10-year-old girl who was riding her bicycle to the Seaview Elementary School in Linwood in April, 2010.
He lured the girl to the side yard of a Forrest Ave. home where he exposed and touched himself in front of the victim. As the victim ran, Campo allegedly grabbed her skirt and pulled it down but she was able to pull up her skirt and flee to the school where she immediately told her teacher.
The school contacted the Linwood Police who took Campo into custody later that same day in Hamilton Township and he was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility in lieu of $500,000 full cash bail. On the day Campo’s trial we set to begin he pled guilty to sexual assault and luring and in keeping with the plea agreement Superior Court Judge Kyran Conner sentenced him to seven years for the assault charge, subject to the No Early Release Act which means he must serve 85 percent of his sentence or five years 11 months.
