Dupree arrested and charged in Feb. 2 shooting

SOMERS POINT—An arrest has been made in the February 2 shooting that occurred on West New York Ave. According to Somers Point Police Chief Michael Boyd, Dupree Webb Martin, 18, was arrested Wed. Feb. 27 in Atlantic City.
Boyd said the arrest was made by the Somers Point Police Dept. with the assistance of the Atlantic City Police Dept, the Atlantic County Prosecutors Office and the U.S. Marshalls. Upon his arrest, Martin was charged with robbery, aggravated assault and weapons offenses. Bail for Martin was set at $250,000 cash and he was remanded to the Gerald Gormley Justice Facility.
The 26-year-old shooting victim has returned home and is recovering after surgery following the shooting, according to Boyd. The other two victims at the home on West New York Ave. were struck in the head during the robbery were treated at the scene for injuries.
The police are still looking for another suspect in the case. Boyd said they are looking for Martin’s accomplice and the suspect is described as a black male between 18 and 24 years of age, medium build and 5’11” and 6’.
