Ready to read in Somers Point (SLIDESHOW)

Second-grade teacher Joan Timmons has the students’ attention as she reads a story at Family Reading Night Feb. 27.

Somers Point families headed back to school Wednesday, Feb. 27 for the district wide Family Reading Night at Jordan Road School.

The jungle theme had students writing about elephants and tigers; reading about gorillas and other animals, and playing jungle themed games on the iPads. With more than 60 families involved, the evening was a big success.
