SOMERS POINT—Police here are looking for help from the public to help find an armed robbery suspect; Thursday night a man walked into the TD Bank located on New Road and brandished a semi-automatic weapon at a teller just before closing.

The call came into the Somers Point Police Department at 7:51 p.m. When police arrived the suspect had gotten an undetermined amount of cash from a teller and reportedly fled in a southbound direction toward Chapman Blvd.

Police cars were quickly on the scene including the K-9 unit. Shortly after 9 p.m. numerous police officers were combing the area and investigators were seen dusting the front door and the area for finger prints.

The Somers Point Police are asking anyone who might have information or possibly seen someone running from the area approximately 8 p.m. wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt is about 6 feet with a stocky build or if anyone recognizes the person in the photo taken from TD Bank surveillance video to contact the Somers Point Police at 609 927-6161.
