NORTHFIELD – The historic Atlantic City Country Club on Shore Road, owned by Caesars Entertainment, has been sold to the Ottinger family group, which also owns Ballamor and Scotland Run golf clubs. The sale date was Tuesday, April 15.
“Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City has proudly been associated with the Atlantic City Country Club for many years,” said Rick Mazer, regional president and general manger of Harrah’s Resort.

“The club has consistently served the Atlantic City community with world class golf for over a century and is a major reason why Atlantic City has become of the greatest resort and entertainment destinations on the East Coast. Caesars Entertainment is proud to expand the offerings for premier golf and country club experiences for our most loyal guests through this newly forged partnership with the Ottinger family group.”

Liz Norton-Scanga, spokesperson for the Ottinger family, said, “We are pleased to make this announcement and look forward to carrying on the long traditions of what makes this property one of the most revered golf courses in the country. Atlantic City Country Club  is truly a gem.”

Expanding the Caesars Entertainment Total Rewards loyalty program, Atlantic City guests will now have access to preferred tee times and discounted round pricing at the three Ottinger family courses, Atlantic City Country Club, Ballamor and Scotland Run. The three courses will be known to the Caesars Entertainment customers as “official golf courses” for Total Rewards members in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania markets according to Norton-Scanga.

“The country club is the crown jewel of Northfield and we are happy that it has worked out and hope it is all good.” Northfield Mayor Jerry McGee said about the sale of the famed country club.

The 6,577-yard course runs along Lakes Bay and the shifting breeze, scent of saltwater and windswept fescue add to the golfing experience at one of the country’s finest courses. Designed in 1897 by John Reid, the course has undergone renovations three times with the most recent in 1999 and is reminiscent of Scottish and Irish links. The view of Atlantic City’s skyline from the course is a bonus no other course can offer.
