In a world ruled by technology, I think I have adapted pretty well.

I am computer literate. I use my smart phone to text, check email, research cruises to the Caribbean and read online newspapers. I have mastered the remote control to the television, including the On Demand feature. I have a Twitter account, but I don’t do Facebook.

Last week, many Ocean City residents woke up to the news that one of their councilmen had suggested charging homeowners $125 a year to fix the city’s roads.

Last week, when she was the featured speaker at a Fairness In Taxes meeting, Michele Gillian, the executive director of the Chamber of Commerce, said it is going to take jobs to make Ocean City a year-round community.
