Celebrating 125 years, bank plans themed parties each month

OCEAN CITY — This year, Ocean City Home Bank celebrates 125 years of service to the community. To mark the occasion, the bank is inviting customers to take part in monthly anniversary celebrations that will transport attendees back in time to various eras in the bank’s history.
The first anniversary celebration will take place Friday, Jan. 27 at the Ocean City branch, located at 1001 Asbury Ave. The branch will host a daylong 1890s-themed celebration with refreshments, prizes and a chance to win $125.
“When planning our 125th anniversary celebration, we wanted to highlight the fact that customers have trusted Ocean City Home Bank since 1887, through good economic times and challenges, through world wars and social revolutions, through passing trends and new realities,” said Steven E. Brady, president and CEO of Ocean City Home Bank. “We decided that 12 different events, each focusing on a different decade, would be the best way to illustrate the bank’s rich history.”
Customers have 11 more opportunities to travel through time at anniversary celebrations, including a 1900s event at the Marmora branch in February; a 1910s-themed event in Linwood in March; a 1920s celebration in Ventnor in April; a 1930s event in Egg Harbor Township in May; a 1940s-themed celebration in Absecon in June; a 1950s event in Northfield in July; a celebration of the 1960s in Margate in August; a 1970s-themed event in Mays Landing in September; a celebration of the 1980s in Galloway in October; a 1990s event in Egg Harbor City in November, and a celebration of the 2000s in Hammonton in December.
“We’ve asked the employees at each of our branches to use their creativity when planning the monthly celebrations,” Brady said. “From roaring ’20s costumes to disco-themed décor, I think our customers are in for a treat each month throughout our 125th anniversary year.”
