The Linwood and Ocean City-based law firm Ford, Flower & Hasbrouck has named attorney Richard M. King Jr. a partner, and changed its name to Ford, Flower, Hasbrouck & King.
King has been with the firm his entire 17-year career. He graduated summa cum laude from Rider University in 1992 and received his law degree from Villanova University School of Law, where he served on the Villanova Law Review.
King was selected to the Order of the Coif Honor Society, received the Herman J. Obert Award as the top graduate in the field of corporate law, and won the Ruby R. Vale National Corporate Law Moot Court competition in Wilmington, Del.
A former law clerk to the Honorable L. Anthony Gibson, a retired presiding judge of the Chancery Division in Atlantic and Cape May counties, King focuses his practice on commercial, construction, real estate, zoning and estate litigation.
In 2005, the Atlantic County Bar Association and the Rimm Award Committee named him the outstanding young attorney in Atlantic County.
A former trustee of the Atlantic County Bar Association, King serves on the executive committee of the Vincent S. Haneman American Inn of Court and is a state-approved civil mediator concentrating in general equity and commercial litigation matters. He also serves as a trustee for the Cape Atlantic chapter of the Sunshine Foundation and is a former chairman of the Margate Community Church board of trustees.
King lives in Linwood with his wife, Rita, and their 11-year old twins, Richard and Caroline.
