Pamper Scamper takes off Aug. 7

OCEAN CITY — Ocean City’s baby crawling race, The Pamper Scamper, is set for Tuesday, Aug. 7 at the Sixth Street beach volleyball nets opposite Wonderland Pier. Registration is at 9 a.m. and the races begin at 9:30. The contest is free and prizes are awarded.

The race is for babies 15 months and younger. The event is sponsored by the Ocean City Recreation Division with prizes donated by Ocean City merchants.

The Pamper Scamper is a prelude to Ocean City’s 103 rd. Baby Parade to be held Aug. 9 on the Boardwalk starting 10:15 a.m. For information, call the Public Relations Office, 525-9300.

Deadline for registration in the Baby Parade is Aug. 7 at noon at the Music Pier information office, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace.

Prior to the Pamper Scamper, spectators sing the Pamper Scamper song, “Baby Race” to the tune of the popular standard, “Baby Face”:
