Ocean City PTA’s 4th annual holiday shop
The Ocean City Parent Teacher Association is hosting its fourth annual Holiday Shopping Extravaganza 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6 at the Ocean City Intermediate School, 1801 Bay Ave. This event includes Cookie Walk where customers can purchase homemade holiday cookies by the pound, made by local moms, as well as a raffle table with over 30 prizes. The PTA is looking for retailers, crafters and vendors to sell their items. A donation of $35 to OCPTA gives vendors one 8-foot table, tablecloth and space to display and sell products. Annual Christmas parade kicks off Friday
The annual Ocean City Christmas parade will begin 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7 at Sixth and Asbury, heading south to 11th Street. Santa will then return to the park at Ninth Street and Asbury Avenue to greet his friends, pose for photos and distribute treats to children. The Pitman Hobo Band, Ocean City High School Band and Pennsport String Band will perform. The Ocean City High School girl’s field hockey state champions will ride on a Gillian’s Wonderland float.
There will be costumed characters, floats and an array of area misses including Miss Ocean City Devon Vanderslice, Junior Miss Ocean City Shannon Wallace and Little Miss Ocean City Paige Aita, plus Miss Night in Venice, Miss Cape May County and Little Miss and Junior Princess Cape May County. Martin Z. Mollusk and Elmo will ride in a car, the Cape May County Sheriff’s Office will bring McGruff and Eagle Eddie. There will be a Marine Corps Color Guard, fire engines and many other features.
Tabernacle to host Christmas concert
The Ocean City Tabernacle, 500 Wesley Ave., will host Christmas at the Tabernacle concert 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 in the main auditorium. This event will feature the Tabernacle’s own Angelus Chorus with Tapestry String Quartet and guest soloist tenor John Taylor. The concert is free and open to the public. In addition to the concert on Saturday, the Tabernacle will have a Live Nativity presented by the Son Club Youth 2 p.m. featuring Mary and Joseph and real farm animals. Children of all ages will have the chance to enjoy the nativity reenactment and pet the camels, goats and sheep. Tickets on sale for Holiday Hits Bandstand by OCTC
This season, the Greater Ocean City Theatre Company invites you to come celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with its Holiday Hits Bandstand. The cast of professional singers and dancers will present a high-energy, family-oriented, song and dance tribute to the holidays, directed and choreographed by Michael Hartman. This annual tradition features a brand new set, theme and songs. Tickets are now on sale. Cost is $18 for adults, $15 for children under 12. Show dates and times are: 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14; 2 and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 15; and 2 p.m. Dec. 16 at the Ocean City Music Pier, Moorlyn Terrace and Boardwalk.
