OCEAN CITY — The community came out for its annual Day of Service in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day Monday, Jan. 21. Volunteers met at various locations throughout Ocean CIty to pick up trash and debris.
The clean up event was sponsored by the city of Ocean City, in conjunction with the Ocean City Clean Communities Program. The Ocean City Community Association also held a cleanup on Jan. 21 in partnership with the Campbell Soup Company, Ocean City Public Works and the Ocean City Environmental Commission at the entrance to Crook Horn Creek nature area, 51st Street and Haven Avenue.
The Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service marks the beginning of the year of service as millions of Americans honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and volunteer their time to improve their communities. Ocean City has participated in the Day of Service since 2008.
