The Ocean City Nor'easters soccer organization and the Ocean City Recreation Department will partner to enhance the player development opportunities for all ages and levels of soccer within city of Ocean City with a spring Soccer Academy.
The Spring Rec Soccer Academy will be an indoor soccer program at the city's sports and civic center following a similar format to the city's previous spring soccer. The program will run for seven weeks from mid-March through May and will combine a training and education element, as well as games. The introduction of the preschool age group will be the first time soccer has been offered for this young age.
Using age appropriate curriculum, Ocean City Nor'easters will provide support, structure, consistency and confidence to ensure players are receiving the highest level of coaching. Ocean City Nor'easters professional coaching staff will work alongside volunteer coaches providing education and expertise, ensuring existing and new programs are structured correctly and implemented with consistency.
Age groups are:
First Touch: Pre-K
MLS: Kindergarten - 1st Grade
Premier League: 2nd - 3rd Grade
Champions League: 4th - 5th Grade
Registration takes place through March 8 and can be completed online at https://ssl.demosphere.com/SJB/ or at the Sports & Civic Center, Sixth Street and Boardwalk. The cost is $35 per play.
Spring Rec Soccer Academy begins March 18. There is no play during Easter vacation week, April 1-6. All games will be indoors at the Civic Center Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and Saturday mornings. Full schedules will be released after registration.
Volunteer coaches are needed to assist Nor'easter professional coaches.
