OCEAN CITY — The Discovery World Preschool held its first coat drive to benefit The Atlantic City Rescue Mission during the month of December.
The children, ages 2-5, are learning there are some people that need help and each was asked to place a coat in the box so another child could be warm when it is cold out.

The community responded in warm and positive ways. Johnson’s Appliances donated the collection boxes, the Ocean City Public Library offered space as a second drop-off location and local merchants throughout the city displayed flyers announcing the event.
The Atlantic City Rescue mission received 137 coats, plus hats and gloves. The mission services over 3,300 homeless and needy each year.

“We couldn’t be happier with the outcome and look forward to holding this event every year,” said Terry Cammarato, director of Discovery World.
