The Ocean City Police Department responded to 593 calls for service Jan. 22-28.
On Sunday, Jan. 22, police had 68 calls for service, responded to one alarm, made 30 motor vehicle stops and 21 property checks, and assisted with three fire calls and two EMS calls.
Criminal mischief investigation at 9:12 a.m. on the 2300 block of Simpson Avenue.
Fraud investigation at 9:56 a.m. on the 600 block of Wesley Avenue.
Harassment investigation at 11:25 a.m. on the 700 block of Moore Avenue.
Verbal dispute at 2:07 p.m. on the 100 block of Central Avenue.
On Monday, Jan. 23, police had 75 calls for service, responded to one alarm, made 15 motor vehicle stops and 21 property checks, and assisted with five fire calls and six EMS calls.
Assist Marine Mammal Center at 12:10 p.m. with stranded whale on Seventh Street.
Police pursuit at 2:11 p.m. on the 600 block of Asbury Avenue; one in custody.
On Tuesday, Jan. 24, police had 72 calls for service, responded to five alarms, made 24 motor vehicle stops and 22 property checks, and assisted with four fire calls and five EMS calls.
Assistance rendered to Marine Mammal Center for whale carcass removal.
On Wednesday, Jan. 25, police had 120 calls for service, responded to four alarms, made 54 motor vehicle stops and 28 property checks, and assisted with three fire calls and six EMS calls.
Theft investigation at 6:54 a.m. on the 1800 block of Bay Avenue.
Drug investigation at 8:57 a.m. on the 1000 block of Wesley Avenue; one in custody.
Fraud investigation at 2:51 p.m. on Edinburg Road.
Warrant service at 9:30 p.m. on the 800 block of Central Avenue; one in custody.
On Thursday, Jan. 26, police had 78 calls for service, responded to one accident, made 25 motor vehicle stops and 19 property checks, and assisted with four fire calls and five EMS calls.
Motor vehicle accident at 7:52 a.m. at 14th Street and Bay Avenue; no injuries reported.
Warrant service at 10:49 a.m. on the 600 block of Haven Avenue; one in custody.
Verbal dispute at 12:45 p.m. on the 300 block of Haven Avenue.
Verbal dispute at 9:58 p.m. on the 600 block of Wesley Avenue.
Trespassing investigation at 10:06 p.m. on the 5100 block of Central Avenue.
On Friday, Jan. 27, police had 84 calls for service, responded to two accidents and five alarms, made 22 motor vehicle stops and 24 property checks, and assisted with two fire calls and three EMS calls.
Verbal dispute at 1:15 a.m. on the 600 block of Wesley Avenue.
Warrant service at 11:30 a.m. on Route 52; one in custody.
Motor vehicle accident at 3:11 p.m. on the 800 block of Central Avenue; no injuries reported.
Warrant service at 5:04 p.m. on Route 52; one in custody.
On Saturday Jan. 28, police had 96 calls for service, responded to three alarms, made 30 motor vehicle stops and 30 property checks, and assisted with six fire calls and four EMS calls.
Harassment investigation at 8:08 a.m. on the 800 block of Central Avenue.
Theft investigation at 12:14 p.m. on the 300 block of 47th Street.
Drug investigation at 7:38 p.m. on the 900 block of West Avenue; one in custody.
Harassment investigation at 9:50 p.m. on the 4700 block of West Avenue.
Public service announcements:
It is a violation of a city ordinance to have dogs on the boardwalk any time during the year.
When driving on Route 52 remain alert for sudden stops due to ongoing construction.
A reminder that New Jersey law requires all snow and ice removed from a vehicle prior to driving on a public roadway.
Arrests:
Michelle Knoehel, 28, of Ocean City was arrested Jan. 14 by Patrolman Varnold and Lt. Sharpe and charged with shoplifting and criminal mischief.
Dennis Caimes, 60, of Ocean City was arrested Jan. 19 by Sgt. Tabor and Patrolman Koob for an active warrant and charged with possession of prescription drugs without a prescription.
