Plunkett named February Guardian Angel

SOMERS POINT — Shore Medical Center recognized Marguerite Plunkett as its February Guardian Angel for providing passionate and exceptional care to her patients. Whether it is for helping to deliver their first child or providing a meaningful service during a patient’s hospital stay, the Guardian Angel Program was established to enable patients to say thank you to a special caregiver through a donation to Shore Medical Center.

Plunkett, of Ocean City, has worked as a registered dietitian at Shore since 1997. Described by peers as intuitive, well-rounded, dependable and insightful, she goes above and beyond to provide the best care and service possible. In particular, she is passionate about caring for oncology patients, for whom nutrition plays a major role in their health and well-being.

“Marguerite has gone to great lengths to meet the needs or requests of her patients, even if it requires a trip to the supermarket on her own time,” clinical nutrition manager Jennifer E. Crowley said. “She has always stated that patients are the reason we are here. She is someone you would want on your side, advocating for you.”

Guardian Angels are recognized amongst their peers and are presented with a special Guardian Angel pin at Shore Medical Center’s annual pinning ceremony.
