OCEAN CITY — Councilman Tony Wilson is seeking to keep his seat on council representing the 3rd Ward.

He said he knew he would run for re-election during his campaign to fill the unexpired term of Susan Sheppard last year.

“I decided about nine months ago,” he said.

Wilson, 42, and his wife Melissa have two children, Julia and Tony, 9 and 13 respectively. He is a life-long Ocean City resident and works as a plumbing, heating and air conditioning contractor.

Wilson said he first sought election to help maintain the city’s ideals.

“I wanted to make sure that we kept Ocean City family values in mind,” he said. “I have a young family and I wanted to make sure I gave back to the community and make sure my kids have it better than I had it.”

This time around, Wilson said he wants to continue the work he has only just begun since being sworn in to council in December.

“We’re going to continue working hard, we’re going to represent the people of the 3rd Ward and we’re going to work with everybody to make sure they know the issues inside and out,” he said.
