The Ocean City Police Department responded to 681 calls for service Feb. 5-11.

 

On Sunday, Feb. 5, police had 74 calls for service, responded to one alarm, made 23 motor vehicle stops and 24 property checks, and assisted with two fire calls and one EMS calls.

Threat investigation at 8:58 a.m. on the 100 block of Asbury Avenue.

Burglary investigation at 9:57 a.m. on the 1800 block of Boardwalk.

 

On Monday, Feb. 6, police had 112 calls for service, responded to one accident and three alarms, made 34 motor vehicle stops and 36 property checks, and assisted with six fire calls and nine EMS calls.

Motor vehicle accident at 11:21 a.m. on the 800 block of Atlantic Avenue; no injuries reported.

Warrant service at 1:35 p.m. on the 1100 block of Haven Avenue; one in custody.

Obstruction justice investigation at 2:26 p.m. on the 1000 block of West Avenue.

 

On Tuesday, Feb. 7, police had 85 calls for service, responded to one accident and three alarms, made 42 motor vehicle stops and 18 property checks, and assisted with two fire calls and three EMS calls.

Theft investigation at 8:15 a.m. on the 100 block of Ocean Road.

Drug investigation at 10:55 a.m. on the 100 block of Central Avenue; one in custody.

Warrant service at 2:14 p.m. on Roosevelt Boulevard; one in custody.

Motor vehicle accident at 3:36 p.m. at Sixth Street and Asbury Avenue; injuries reported.

Drug investigation at 11:03 p.m. on the 900 block of Simpson Avenue; one in custody.

 

On Wednesday, Feb. 8, police had 87 calls for service, responded to two accidents and two alarms, made 32 motor vehicle stops and 31 property checks, and assisted with one fire call and two EMS calls.

Theft investigation at 12:21 a.m. on the 1200 block of West Avenue.

Criminal mischief investigation at 9 a.m. on the 200 block of Asbury Avenue.

Motor vehicle accident at 3:05 p.m. on the 300 block of Asbury Avenue; no injuries reported.

Hit and run motor vehicle accident at 4:36 p.m. on the 1500 block of Bay Avenue.

Warrant service at 4:46 p.m. on Roosevelt Boulevard; one in custody.

Drug investigation at 7:17 p.m. on the 800 block of Asbury Avenue; one in custody.

 

On Thursday, Feb. 9, police had 102 calls for service, responded to two accidents and three alarms, made 39 motor vehicle stops and 36 property checks, and assisted with two fire calls and nine EMS calls.

Hit and run motor vehicle accident at 7:08 a.m. on the 800 block of Ocean Avenue.

Motor vehicle accident at 11:37 a.m. on the 800 block of Central Avenue; no injuries reported.

Theft investigation at 1:56 p.m. on the 4300 block of Central Avenue.

 

On Friday, Feb. 10, police had 110 calls for service, responded to two alarms, made 38 motor vehicle stops and 42 property checks, and assisted with three fire calls and five EMS calls.

Warrant service at 9:56 a.m. on the 900 block of West Avenue; one in custody.

Verbal dispute at 10:10 a.m. on the 1300 block of West Avenue.

Warrant service at 12:54 p.m. on the 900 block of West Avenue; one in custody.

Fraud investigation at 5:04 p.m. on the 1700 block of Asbury Avenue.

Trespassing investigation at 10:48 p.m. on the 700 block of Moore Avenue.

 

On Saturday, Feb. 11, police had 111 calls for service, responded to two alarms, made 61 motor vehicle stops and 29 property checks, and assisted with two fire calls and seven EMS calls.

Harassment investigation at 5:56 a.m. on the 1300 block of Simpson Avenue.

Harassment investigation at 4:26 p.m. on the 600 block of Wesley Avenue.

 

Public service announcements:

It is a violation of a city ordinance to have dogs on the boardwalk any time during the year.

When driving on Route 52 remain alert for sudden stops due to ongoing construction.

A reminder that New Jersey law requires all snow and ice removed from a vehicle prior to driving on a public roadway.

 

Arrests:

Tim Nixon, 22, of Ocean City was arrested Feb. 3 by Patrolman Koob and Sgt. Fletcher and charged with possession of illegal drugs, possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Shawn Tiernan, 38, of Ocean City was arrested Feb. 5 by Patrolman Strunk and Sgt. Mazzuca and charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and active warrants.

Trinity Workman, 35, of Cape May was arrested Feb. 6 by Patrolman Walsh and Sgt. Fletcher and charged with hindering apprehension and contempt of court.

Mauro Carrasco, 18, of Atlantic City was arrested Feb. 8 by Patrolman Johnson and Sgt. Randles and charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
