Driver taken to emergency room after crash on Asbury

OCEAN CITY — An unknown medical emergency landed one driver in the emergency room Thursday, Feb. 23. Police were called to a motor vehicle accident at 1:05 p.m. on the 600 block of Asbury Avenue.

The investigation revealed that the driver of a Buick Lesabre was traveling north on Asbury Avenue and had just entered the 600 block when it crossed over the southbound lanes, striking a parked GMC pickup truck located in front of 650 Asbury Ave.

The driver was transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City for treatment of injuries. The other vehicle involved was not occupied at the time of the accident.

Initial investigation indicates that the driver of the Buick Lesabre had some type of medical problem that caused him to lose control of his vehicle. The accident is still under investigation and no summonses have been issued at the time of this press release.

Police have not released the name of the driver.
