The Ocean City Police Department responded to 619 calls for service April 1-7.

 

On Sunday, April 1, police received 77 calls for service, responded to one alarm, made 20 motor vehicle stops and 23 property checks, and assisted with three fire calls and four EMS calls.

Theft investigation at 11:09 a.m. on the 700 block of West Avenue.

Warrant service at 12:34 p.m. on Route 52; one in custody.

Verbal dispute at 1:09 p.m. on the 700 block of Third Street.

 

On Monday, April 2, police received 76 calls for service, responded to two accidents and six alarms, made 15 motor vehicle stops and 25 property checks, and assisted with six fire calls and nine EMS calls.

Theft investigation at 10:05 a.m. on the 3400 block of Simpson Avenue.

Harassment investigation at 2:42 p.m. on Arkansas Avenue.

Criminal mischief investigation at 3:10 p.m. on the 1200 block of Wesley Avenue.

Theft investigation at 9 p.m. on the 1000 block of Asbury Avenue.

 

On Tuesday, April 3, police received 71 calls for service, responded to one accident and three alarms, made 24 motor vehicle stops and 20 property checks, and assisted with three fire calls and four EMS calls.

Motor vehicle accident at 8:23 a.m. at Eighth Street and West Avenue; no injuries reported.

City ordinance violation at 7:57 p.m. on the 5800 block of Central Avenue.

Harassment investigation at 8:52 p.m. on the 400 block of Haven Avenue.

On Wednesday, April 4, police received 85 calls for service, responded to two accidents and six alarms, made 27 motor vehicle stops and eight property checks, and assisted with six fire calls and five EMS calls.

Motor vehicle accident at 7:15 a.m. at Ninth Street and West Avenue; no injuries reported.

Theft investigation at 8:37 a.m. on the 300 block of Ninth Street.

Warrant service at 10:45 a.m. on Route 52; one in custody.

Motor vehicle accident at 10:47 a.m. on the 1700 block of Simpson Avenue; no injuries reported.

Disorderly conduct investigation at 9:51 p.m. on the 500 block of Haven Avenue.

Theft investigation at 10:29 p.m. on the 3300 block of West Avenue.

 

On Thursday, April 5, police received 68 calls for service, responded to seven alarms, made 11 motor vehicle stops and 18 property checks, and assisted with three fire calls and three EMS calls.

Theft investigation at 7:49 a.m. on the 500 block of Ninth Street.

Harassment investigation at 12:41 p.m. on the 400 block of Haven Avenue.

Warrant service at 12:45 p.m. on the 1200 block of West Avenue; one in custody.

Fraud investigation at 4:19 p.m. on Conch Drive.

Harassment investigation at 7:27 p.m. on the 3200 block of Haven Avenue.

 

On Friday, April 6, police received 97 calls for service, responded to one accident and three alarms, made 18 motor vehicle stops and 26 property checks, and assisted with nine fire calls and nine EMS calls.

Trespassing at 12:51 a.m. on the 400 block of Haven Avenue; one in custody.

Theft investigation at 3:54 a.m. on the 3300 block of Wesley Avenue.

Criminal mischief investigation at 11:08 a.m. on the 300 block of 18th Street.

Motor vehicle accident at 12:08 p.m. on Route 52; no injuries reported.

Disorderly conduct investigation at 8:34 p.m. on the 800 block of North Street.

Verbal dispute at 9:34 p.m. on the 600 block of Asbury Avenue.

Harassment investigation at 10:05 p.m. on the 400 block of Bay Avenue.

 

On Saturday, April 7, police received 145 calls for service, responded to two accidents, made 45 motor vehicle stops and 51 property checks, and assisted with five fire calls and five EMS calls.

Motor vehicle accident at 7:10 a.m. on the 800 block of Moorlyn Terrace; no injuries reported.

Warrant service at 9:05 a.m. on the 3400 block of Simpson Avenue; one in custody.

Warrant service at 10:41 a.m. on the 1500 block of West Avenue; one in custody.

Motor vehicle accident at 4:53 p.m. at Ninth Street and Asbury Avenue; no injuries reported.

Criminal mischief investigation at 10:44 p.m. on the 3300 block of Asbury Avenue.

 

Public service announcements:

It is a violation of a city ordinance to have dogs on the boardwalk any time during the year.

When driving on Route 52, remain alert for sudden stops due to ongoing construction.

 

Arrests:

Malinda Varley, 23, of Tuckerton was arrested March 29 by Sgt. Campo and Patrolman Ruf and charged with obstructing the administration of law.

Justin Toth, 30, of Toms River was arrested March 29 by Sgt. Campo and Patrolman Ruf and charged with wrongful impersonation.
