Shark caught off Fifth Street fishing jetty

Brown shark caught off the Fifth Street fishing pier Thursday, Aug. 2. OCEAN CITY — According to Ocean City Beach Patrol members, a 4-foot brown shark, also known as a sandbar shark, was caught off the Fifth Street fishing jetty by an unidentified man Thursday, Aug. 2. The shark, which appeared to be alive, was put on display, tied to a plastic pole. As of 1:30 p.m., the shark was gone. It is not clear whether it was released back into the water or not.
