OCEAN CITY – The Ocean City High School psychology club hosted an international dinner Thursday, Dec. 6 at the high school cafeteria to collect toys for Waves of Caring.

The entrance fee to the dinner was one toy, all of which would be donated to the Ocean City nonprofit organization Waves of Caring, run by City Clerk Linda MacIntyre.

According to psychology club advisor Lisa O’Neill, the clubs were asked bring in a dish representing a county of their choosing. After dinner, each club gave a brief presentation on their countries.

O’Neill said the Ocean City Board of Education has been very supportive of the event.

“The board of education has been really generous and they’ve supplied a lot the money for tonight,” she said, referring to the cost for the food.

MacIntyre said she was thankful for the high school’s support of the charity organization. Last year, she said, Waves of Caring helped over 200 children in the community.

“I appreciate your help in bringing a toy in,” she said. “We’re always here to help the families of Ocean City, and that’s our goal.”
