OCEAN CITY – There will be a public hearing and final vote on a $2.4 million bond ordinance to pay for repairs to city property damaged in Hurricane Sandy when City Council meets at noon Thursday, Dec. 27 in the Ocean City Free Public Library, 1735 Simpson Ave.
The consent agenda also includes several resolutions related to Hurricane Sandy damage, including a $34,370 contract to Capri Construction Co., Inc. of Vineland for replacement of windows and resurfacing of the floor at the Ocean City Music Pier.
A second resolution declares an emergency exists and awards a $54,814 contract to Chester A. Asher, Inc. of Ocean City for restoration of the 46th Street firehouse.
According to a memo from Steven Longo, city manager of buildings and grounds, to purchasing manager Joseph Clark, repairs include the replacement of the kitchen and living quarters, and repairs to the captain’s office and restrooms.
Council will be asked to approve a change order to its fall road program Phase III contract with Landberg Construction, LLC in the amount of $24,629 directly related to the paving of the Sixth Street parking lot and the annex parking lot.
Three board appointments appear on the consent agenda: the reappointment of Sharon Russell and Michael Petrozza as members to the Ocean City Zoning Board of Adjustment; and the appointment of Patricia Miles-Jackson as a member to the Ocean City Housing Authority.
A resolution placing a $314,270 lien on the former Hotel Bellevue property, tabled at the Dec. 13 council meeting, will again be up for approval.
