OCEAN CITY — At the Ocean City Home Charitable Foundation’s semiannual awards reception on Jan. 23, the organization continued its tradition of supporting community causes with the distribution of $60,000 in grants to 21 area charities.
“Over the past few years, many nonprofit organizations have been forced to do more with less as the need for their services has increased, while funding from government grants, individual donations and corporate donations has decreased,” said Jean Jacobson, president of the Ocean City Home Charitable Foundation. “Now, more than ever, it is important for corporations to support the organizations that serve their communities. The Ocean City Home Charitable Foundation is pleased to offer grants to area charities for the eighth consecutive year.”
Charities including: Alcove Center for Grieving Children, ARC of Atlantic County, Atlantic City Rescue Mission, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Club of Atlantic City, Every Breath Counts, First Night Ocean City, Gilda’s Club South Jersey, Greater Ocean City Theatre Company, Humane Society of Ocean City, Jewish Family Service, Marie Adelaide Center, The Masterworks Choir, Ocean City Arts Center, Ocean City Education Foundation, Ocean City Tabernacle, The Salvation Army, South Jersey Wind Ensemble, South Jersey Cancer Fund, South Jersey Field of Dreams and The Sunshine Foundation.
Since the Ocean City Home Charitable Foundation awarded its first grants in 2005, the organization has donated over $800,000 to charitable organizations throughout Atlantic and Cape May Counties.
