Roeck selected to perform with honors chorus
Dale Roeck, a senior from Ocean City High School, has been selected to perform with the National Association for Music Education's All-Eastern Honors Chorus April 7 at the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford, Conn. More than 780 of the most musically talented high school students in the East will gather to rehearse and perform before a crowd of thousands this spring.
Two from OCHS perform in choral festival
Ocean City High School senior Dale Roeck and junior Connie Meyer performed in the 55th annual South Jersey Choral Festival Jan. 26 and 27 at Eastern High School in Voorhees. Roeck has been a member of this auditioned chorus for three years while Meyer has sung in the Junior High Chorus and the Senior High Chorus two years each. These singers worked diligently to pass a rigorous audition with over 1,000 competing senior and junior high singers. The conductor of this year’s chorus was Kahlil V. Gunther of Woodstown High School.
Emily Hines named to dean’s list at University of Vermont
Emily K. Hines of Ocean City has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester at the University of Vermont. Hines is a senior psychology major in the College of Arts and Sciences. To be named to the dean’s lists, students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.
Dean Howey makes dean's list at Lebanon Valley College
Dean R. Howey of Ocean City was named to the fall 2012 dean's list at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pa. Howey is a freshman music education major. Dean’s list students must maintain a grade point average of 3.4 or above on a 4-point scale. Howey is a graduate of Ocean City High School.
