OCEAN CITY – A student medical emergency Monday afternoon caused a Level 1 lockdown at Ocean City High School, which in turn caused a late dismissal.

Superintendent Kathleen Taylor said students were dismissed at 2:48 p.m. instead of 2:35 p.m. after the ill student was removed from school by ambulance. She stressed that the lockdown was of the lowest level.

Matt Jamison, principal of the high school, sent out a global connect phone call to students’ homes to advise of the late dismissal.
