OCEAN CITY — The speed limit on Bay Avenue will change to 30 mph on Friday, March 8.

The Cape May County Highway Department is currently installing the new speed limit signs from Battersea Road to 34th Street.

According to a press release from the Ocean City Police Department, this is a minor change for the area between 24th and 34th streets. The only exception to the 30 mph limit is the school zone in the 1800 block of Bay Avenue where the speed limit is 25 mph.

Police will conduct an education campaign in the affected area to advise motorists of the new, reduced speed limit.
