2009 OCHS grad dies in car crash Friday

2009 Ocean City High School graduate Edward E. Harre Jr., 22, died in a one-car crash in Pennsylvania last week, according to published reports.

It was reported that Harre lost control of his vehicle early Friday morning, Dec. 27, near the exit for US 30 on Interstate 476 and hit a barrier. His car overturned several times, according to Pennsylvania State Police, coming to a rest on its roof. Harre was thrown from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Harre, of Broomall, Pa., was born Aug. 3, 1991 in Pomona and spent most of his life in Ocean City and Upper Township, according to his obituary from Godfrey Funeral Home. He was working as a greens keeper for Merion Country Club in Ardmore, Pa. at the time of his death.

Harre is survived by parents Edward E. Harre and Debra Lesperance; brother Max; girlfriend Emily Walmsley; paternal grandmother Joan Harre; maternal grandmother Christa White; uncle Robert Harre and his wife, Leeanne; and aunt Sharon and her husband, Chuck Woehr.

Friends may call 10:30 a.m.-noon Thursday, Jan. 2 at Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 S. Shore Road, Palermo. Burial will be private.
