To the editor:

It is with a grateful heart that I thank all of the volunteers who participated in the Ocean City Post Office Annual May Food Drive on Saturday May 10:

Laurie Howey for publicity and flyers,

Acme for allowing us to use their grocery carts for this event,

Mark Kelly for the pick-up and return of the carts,

The Community for donations they set out for the Postal Workers to pick up,

The postal workers for picking up and delivering the donations to the Ocean City Community Food Cupboard,

Volunteers (including Girl Scouts, students from our local schools and churches) that helped to off-load the mail trucks, weigh, sort and shelve the incoming food donations,

And volunteers that helped set-up and break down the rooms used to sort the food donations.

Due to everyone’s assistance, we were able to fill our shelves with the 4,354 pounds of food to distribute to those in need. What a wonderful community we live in!
